Almost Monday, Weathers & Hoko – The Foundry – Philadelphia, PA – August 19, 2023

It may have been Saturday, but it was Almost Monday at the Foundry the other night. The indie-pop trio from San Diego consists of Dawson Daugherty, Luke Fabry, and Cole Clisby. Fans eagerly gathered in the venue, anxiously awaiting the night to begin!

First to take the stage was Hoko, opening their set with “Pretender,” “OK OK,” and “I Feel Like I’m Falling.” Hoko came out with incredible energy, and their chemistry as a band was infectious. As they continued their set with “Candy Eyes” and “Hellogoodbye,” the band ventured into the crowd creating an amazing connection with the audience.

Weathers took the stage next, beginning with their songs “She Hates Me,” “Always Tired,” and got the audience off their feet with a cover of “Burnin’ Up” by The Jonas Brothers. The crowd went wild, singing along to every word. They continued on with “Happy Pills,” “Problems,” “C’est La Vie,” and “ALL CAPS.” Lead vocalist Cameron Boyer took advantage of every inch of the stage, interacting with the crowd and each member of the band throughout the entire set. The audience kept the energy up all night, as Weathers rounded out their set with “I’m Not Ok.”

At around 9:00, the lights went low and Almost Monday took the stage! They opened their set with “Only Wanna Dance,” “Cool Enough,” and “Parking Lot View.” The band’s energy was off the charts, and their bubbly personalities were so much fun to watch on stage. After playing this same venue back in January, Almost Monday stated how happy they were to be back.

Lead vocalist Dawson Daugherty accompanied his strong vocals with fun dance moves, creating an amazing and upbeat atmosphere throughout the venue. They continued with “Coast to Coast,” “Til the End of Time,” “You Look So Good,” and a cover of The Romantics’ “What I Like About You.” Their strong vocals were accompanied by sturdy guitar riffs and groovy bass lines, making for an incredibly well-rounded performance. This was my second time seeing Almost Monday, and it has been an amazing experience both times.

They ended their performance with some of my favorite songs, “Sun Keeps on Shining,” “Sunburn,” and “Cough Drops.” Throughout the entire night, there was not a dull moment. The band’s connection with the crowd was consistent, and their performance made for a very fun night!
