The Suffers & The Ballroom Thieves – Arden Concert Gild – Arden, DE – February 23, 2017
A glorious night of music is always going to be served up by The Suffers. On a recent Thursday night in Arden, Delaware it was no different. The Houston-based seven-piece delivered a brilliant set of their unique Gulf Coast Soul to a crowd devouring their every note.
Led by the powerhouse singer and personality Kam Franklin, the songs dished out were piled high with love, heartache and the desire to live life to the fullest. With their 2016 self-titled LP and previous EPs as the backing to their set, the horns, percussion, guitar, bass and keys wove brilliantly into the rhythm and dance of the band. A characteristically lively Arden crowd met every soul-rattling note with an electric response, making for a night of pure sublime entertainment. The Suffers are a required live experience for any music fan.
The Ballroom Thieves opened with a rousing set of folk. A nice aural treat to set the night up for The Suffers, they were a perfect fit for the night in Arden.
