Just as we finished binging season five of the fan favorite My Hero Academia on Funimation, loyal MHA fans get an exciting gift from the creators in the form of My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission. This third motion picture release from the franchise is due out in theaters in the US and Canada on October 29th!
In this latest film, UA High School students are sent around the globe to help the Pro Heroes in their most challenging and explosive mission ever. While the students fight alongside the Heroes to secure their locations globally, three Class 1A students – Izuku Midoriya, aka Deku, along with classmates Shoto Todoroki, Katsuki Bakugo and a new friend, Rody Soul – take on the film’s main antagonist Flect Turn, the head of a mysterious group called Humarise.
The film is one hour and forty-one minutes of excitement for MHA fans. The animation is exceptional throughout the entire movie and the action scenes are exciting. Some of the colors, along with a change in graphic styles, give a new dimension to the film. A few parts seem a bit darker than past seasons of the series.
Most animes are known for their scores and much of the music in World Heroes Mission – like many past MHA franchise scores – is flawlessly created by Yuki Hayashi. As in past soundtracks, Hayashi’s music adds an exciting dimension to the action. In addition, other notable music in the film includes “Flowers” and “Empathy” by Asian Kung-Fu Generation. “Flowers” in particular was matched with visually stunning animation, somewhat of a music video segment in the film that fans will love. They’ll undoubtedly be adding all the music to their Spotify in no time.
Can’t wait to see World Heroes Mission? Then you get a bonus! Besides being one of the first to see the new film, Funimation is giving away a “My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission Vol. W Specialty Manga Booklet” to all ticketholders in the US and Canada. The 76-page collectible book shares a look inside the making of the film, including original drawings by creator Kohei Horikoshi, along with a Q&A. There is a one book per ticket limit while supplies last.
