This past Saturday, Boot & Saddle was filled with the pure rock joy that is Eliza Hardy Jones. The Philadelphian brought her 2016 LP Because Become to vivid life for an excited crowd.

Songs like “Criminal” floated from her voice and keyboards with sonic perfection. Her three bandmates – drummer Patrick Berkery and strings electric from Nick Krill and Dave Wayne Daniels – made the lush compositions come into even sharper focus. And there were moments of divergence into covers of Fleetwood Mac and guests like former Buried Beds bandmate Brandon Beaver and even Jones’ father. It was a glorious night of music that will hopefully be replicated in a live setting again soon.

Local outfit Geology opened. Led by Greg Jehanian, the understated rock, which was featured on their 2016 release Healers, was a wonderful way to being a night of awesome Philly rock.
